Join in Relay for Life 2019 on the Southern Gold Coast in May at the Miami State High School near our Mermaid Beach accommodation.
Relay for Life is the largest fundraising event for cancer in the world, which has hosted worldwide fundraising events in more than 20 countries since 1985 and involved more than 4-million people in the aim to battle cancer with awareness, research, and treatment. In 1999, Relay for Life reached Australia and has since grown to widespread events in multiple Australian states and cities, with more than 134,000 participants each year and over $14-million in collective annual fundraising for Cancer Council - Australia’s national non-profit organisation for cancer research, prevention, and support.
The 2019 Southern Gold Coast Relay for Life invites community members and visitors on the Gold Coast to take part in a fun team relay at the Miami State High School in Mermaid Waters (near Miami Beach and Mermaid Beach). Attendees will join teams of between 10 and 15 members, then engage in a number of relay events that will aim to raise funds as well as awareness in the battle against cancer.
The theme for this year’s Relay for Life is “Survivor”, in which participants will be encouraged, but not obliged, to dress up in tribal wear in a bid to stimulate solidarity as well as generate attention in the event’s cause.
If you’ve lost someone to cancer, know of someone who is currently battling cancer or have been afflicted with cancer yourself, show your support and join in to raise funds and awareness for Cancer Council research and treatment at the 2019 Southern Gold Coast Relay for Life.
Relay for Life 2019 comes to Miami State High School on Saturday, May 11.
If you would like to take part and need to stay nearby, visit Montana Palms.
